York, Chester, Lancaster counties head to primaries Tuesday
Voters in York, Chester and Lancaster counties will cast ballots in primary elections on Tuesday, determining party nominees for Congress, sheriff, county councils and other state and local offices.
Here’s what you need to know to vote:
When: Polls are open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. If you are standing in line at 7 p.m., you will get to vote.
Who: All registered voters. Not sure if you are registered? Go to scvotes.org and click on “Check My Voter Registration.”)
Where: Click here for a list of polling places in York, Chester and Lancaster counties.
What to bring: A photo ID – S.C. driver’s license, S.C. DMV card, S.C. voter registration card (w/photo), federal military ID or U.S. passport.
If you forget: If you fail to bring a photo ID to the polls, you can still cast a provisional ballot. For it to count, though, you’ll need to bring a photo ID to your county elections office before results are certified, which is usually by the end of the week.
