Dash cam footage of fatal vehicle fire released after SC police chase
Officials have released dash cam footage of a fatal vehicle fire that happened May 29 after a woman allegedly fled Forest Acres police officers.
The wreck happened between 3 and 4 a.m., when the Forest Acres Police Department tried to make a traffic stop on Two Notch Road. Officials said the vehicle went off the side of the road at a high rate of speed, crashed into utility poles and a fence, and caught fire with the driver trapped inside.
Using dental records, Richland County Coroner Gary Watts identified the driver as Lennetta Tierra Perry, 22, of Colleton Street in Columbia.
Perry was the only occupant of the vehicle.
