Need a job? York, Chester, Lancaster county companies hire amid COVID19. Here’s a list.
Thousands of York, Chester and Lancaster County residents have filed for unemployment benefits in recent weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic.
COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, has caused stores, schools and businesses to close.
Grocery stores and food delivery services remain open. While unemployment claims increase, several companies are hiring workers.
Here are a few:
- Grocery stores, such as Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Family Dollar, Bi-Lo, Publix, Costco, Target and Walmart are hiring for a variety of positions in the York County region.
- Dollar General is hiring for multiple positions in York, Chester and Lancaster County.
- Domino’s, Papa John’s and Pizza Hut are hiring for local delivery drivers and other positions.
- Apps such as Ezy-E’s takeout delivery, DoorDash and Uber Eats hires drivers to deliver meals in a variety of locations.
- Home improvement stores such as Home Depot and Lowe’s are hiring in the York County region.
- Amazon is hiring for thousands of positions in North Carolina, including Charlotte. Apply at amazon.com/jobsnow or text AMAZON to 77088 to receive messages about job openings in the Charlotte area.
- Carowinds in Fort Mill is hiring for seasonal positions. Apply on their website.
Wheel Pros. is hiring for multiple positions in York. The company, which produces custom and performance wheels, is hiring for CNC maintenance technician, quality auditor, machine operator, material handler, packaging and tool crib attendant, according to the website.
- Carolina Poly, Inc., which produces polyethylene products, is hiring forklift drivers in Chester. The company is seeking employees for its new 500,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, according to the website. The company is hiring for manufacturing positions including packagers, machine operators, maintenance technicians and supervisors.
- The York County Government website lists available jobs.
- South Carolina’s Information Highway website lists available jobs by city, including in distribution, manufacturing, energy and finance. Positions are listed in York, Chester and Lancaster County.
- Residents can get help building resumes and finding positions through SC Works, a brand of services aimed to help job seekers in South Carolina.
- The S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce has a list of resources on the website, including companies hiring during the pandemic.
- The South Carolina Department of Corrections has open positions in York, Chester and Lancaster County, according to the website.
