Getting care at Piedmont Medical in Rock Hill? You can again have 1 visitor

As of Monday, patients at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill are again allowed to ahve visitors.

The hospital had stopped allowing visitors due to COVID-19, the illness caused by the novel coronavirus.

Patients in the hospital, the emergency department and patients with scheduled elective procedures may have one designated visitor, the release states. Visitors will go through temperature screening upon arrival for fever, respiratory symptoms and to determine if they traveled to a locations at high risk for COVID-19.

Visitors must wear a face mask and wear identification, according to Piedmont. Waiting areas are set up to allow distance between visitors.

Piedmont expanded its visitation policy after resuming elective care procedures, the release states.

Piedmont has separate areas for treating COVID-19 patients and screens all employees for symptoms each day when they come to work, the release states. Piedmont also provides COVID-19 testing on site.

“Our COVID SAFETY standards will help patients confidently seek care at our hospitals and allow our community to be less worried for loved ones. We are providing the reassurance that our patients, staff and their families deserve,” Piedmont Medical Center CEO Mark Nosacka said in a prepared statement. “I am proud of the work of our team to quickly implement and optimize these standards to provide care for patients in the safest environment possible.”
