Clover SC issued a boil water advisory after a water line break. Here’s what we know.

A boil water advisory is in effect in Clover after a water line broke Wednesday, resulting in a loss of pressure in the town’s distribution system.

Crews were able to repair the ruptured pipe overnight and service was restored, a release from town officials said.

Officials said there is no reason to believe harmful contaminants got into the water, but customers can boil water as a precaution. Customers should boil water for one minute prior to cooking or drinking.

Some Clover residents may see cloudy water, which is a result of the break and not an indicator of contaminants, officials said.

Samples have been taken and results will come back in 24 hours. Officials will take a second sample on Friday and results are expected Saturday.

The boil water advisory will stay in effect until both results come back, town officials said.

Clover Police Chief Randy Grice said there were no problems with public safety or emergency operations during the time the water line was broken and being repaired.
