Here’s who will lead Visit York County next as board approves interim president, CEO
York County’s top tourism group will stay close to home, for now, in its search for new leadership.
Visit York County announced Wednesday Andy Clinton will serve as interim president and CEO of the organization. Billy Dunlap, current president and CEO, will leave later this month to become the new director of sports tourism with Visit Greenville. His last day in York County is Feb. 25.
Clinton, a Rock Hill native, has been with Visit York County in several roles the past decade. His most recent work is as senior vice president of sales.
“As the board, we have watched as Andy has worked incredibly hard to enhance our destination and produce the economic impact needed to support our hospitality partners,” Visit York County Board Chair Brown Simpson said in a release Wednesday. “We are confident that he will lead the organization in a positive direction during this transition.”
In the release, Clinton expressed a desire to move the organization forward.
“Billy built a great foundation for Visit York County over the past four years, and I look forward to the opportunity to continue to push our core missions in a positive direction,” Clinton said.
Visit York County recruits and promotes a variety of sport, farm, art and other events through Rock Hill, Fort Mill and other parts of the county. The group also promotes area restaurant and brewery sites, both in attracting visitors to eat and drink there, and with promotions like the YoCo Brew Trail and YoCo Taste Trail.
