2 hurt when car runs into York County, SC restaurant near Fort Mill, trooper says

A car crashed into a York County restaurant building Sunday, causing injuries and closing the business, according to owners of the Flipside Cafe near Fort Mill.

The Flipside owners posted on Facebook that the car hit the building, located in a commercial strip on U.S. 21 at Regent Parkway. At the time of the crash, people were eating and working inside.

Pictures posted by Flipside showed that Flint Hill Fire Department and EMS responded, and damage to the restaurant.

The incident happened around 10:15 a.m. on private property, said Master Trooper Gary Miller of the S.C. Highway Patrol.

A car driven by a 61-year-old man struck a parked car then hit the building, Miller said. The driver of the car was injured, Miller said. A person inside the building was injured, Miller said.

The incident remains under investigation, Miller said.

The Flipside restaurant posting received hundreds of shares and comments.

It remains unclear when the restaurant will re-open.
