Charlotte man dies when lawn tractor flips on him near Lake Wylie, officials say
A Charlotte man has died near Lake Wylie in South Carolina after a tractor he was riding flipped over on him, coroner and sheriff officials said.
The man was identified as Khin Chea, 76, York County Coroner Sabrina Gast said.
Chea was working at property on Squirrel Lane Wednesday afternoon when the lawn tractor turned over and trapped him underneath, according to a statement from Gast and documents from the York County Sheriff’s Office.
Chea was deceased when EMS, fire department officials, and deputies arrived, officials said.
The area where the death happened is close to the shore of Lake Wylie, near the state line and Buster Boyd Bridge, which connects South Carolina to Charlotte.
The death remains under investigation.
