Charlotte area NC man dies after Lancaster SC crash, troopers and coroner say
A North Carolina man from the Charlotte area has died after a crash earlier this month in South Carolina, officials said.
Timothy Ryan Cox, 48, of Monroe, N.C. in Union County, died at a hospital after the crash July 20 near Lancaster, according to Karla Knight-Deese, Lancaster County Coroner.
Cox was driving a Jeep on July 20 after noon when the vehicle went off Rocky River Road and overturned, said Lance Cpl. William Bennett of the S.C. Highway Patrol.
The area of the crash is south of Union and Mecklenburg counties in North Carolina, and east of Fort Mill and Rock Hill in York County in South Carolina.
The fatal crash remains under investigation by the highway patrol and coroner’s office.
