One driver was killed and another was hurt in a head-on crash in Lancaster County, officials said.

The collision happened around 4 p.m. Monday on S.C. 200 south of Lancaster, said Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway of the S.C. Highway Patrol.

A Honda sedan and an Acura SUV collided head-on, Ridgeway said in a statement.

The Acura driver was airlifted by helicopter to a Columbia hospital, Ridgeway said. The condition of that person was not known after the crash.

The Honda driver died at the scene, Ridgeway said.

The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the person who was killed.
