3 victims, including 2 children, identified after Sunday house fire in York, SC

Three people, including two children, have been identified after they died in a fire in York, S.C., officials said.

The fire was Sunday morning at a home on Barron Park in the city of York, said Sgt. David Dover of the York Police Department.

The three people who died were identified as Bryan Patton Jr., 27; Malayah Patton, 3; and Milani Patton, 2, according to a statement from York County Coroner Sabrina Gast.

The relationship among the deceased was not released.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, officials said.

Under South Carolina law, fire deaths, as well as deaths of children, are investigated by the State Law Enforcement Division, according to county officials.

The fire remains under investigation by SLED, the S.C. Fire Marshals’ Office, York Police Department, and the coroner, officials said.
