2 kids among 4 hurt after car crashes into Rock Hill restaurant, police say

A pedestrian was hurt after being struck by a car in a hit and run on Celanese Road, the Rock Hill Police Department said.

Four people, including two children, were taken to hospitals and a Rock Hill restaurant was damaged after a collision in Rock Hill late Tuesday near Winthrop University, police said.

A crash around 11 p.m. on Cherry Road included one of the vehicles hitting the Burgers and Barley restaurant, according to a written statement from the Rock Hill Police Department.

Officers said there was a collision between a Ford SUV and a three-wheeled motorcycle on Cherry Road. The SUV struck the restaurant after colliding with the three-wheeler, the statement said.

Two minor children in the Ford SUV were taken to Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte with injuries, police said.

The drivers of both vehicles were transported by EMS to Piedmont Medical Center hospital in Rock Hill, police said.

The persons who were hurt were not identified by police.

The building had significant damage, according to the police statement.

The restaurant is across Cherry Road from the Winthrop campus.

The collision remains under investigation by the Rock Hill police Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction team.
