Rock Hill law firm to give away 500 free Thanksgiving meals Saturday

McGowan, Hood, Felder & Phillips

A Rock Hill law firm is giving away 500 Thanksgiving meals to the community Saturday.

There is no catch. There is no fee.

Everything is free.

The staff at McGowan, Hood, Felder & Phillips has bought and boxed the ingredients for complete meals from the turkey or ham to the fixings and vegetables and even the gravy.

Managing Partner Robert Phillips said the reason is simple: The firm and its staff are a family and want to help other families.

“We don’t care who you are or why you need it,” Phillips said. “If you would like a Thanksgiving dinner for your family, come by Saturday morning, say hello, and accept this meal from our family to yours.”

Anyone who needs a meal for their family as the holiday season approaches can get one while supplies last on Saturday. The giveaway starts at 10 a.m. at the firm’s office at 1539 Healthcare Drive. The event is first come, first served, with one complete meal per household.

The firm posted on its Facebook page, “York County has supported us for more than two decades. With so many neighbors feeling the pinch, we want to give back.”

The firm coordinated the event with Rock Hill’s Rev. Ronal King of Christians to Feed the Hungry, who has helped people in the community for decades, and the 16th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
