Community News: Clinton College to host ‘Spread the Service Day’ Saturday
Clinton College will host an MLK Day Celebration, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the college, 1026 Crawford Road, Rock Hill.
It is the college’s “Spread the Service Day,” and there will be free haircuts, food, school supplies, books, blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, and games for children.
The event is open to the public.
Special events
▪ North Central Family Medical Center will have an enrollment drive for the Affordable Care Act, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday at 1131 Saluda St., Rock Hill. No appointment is necessary. Open Enrollment ends Jan. 31.
Fundraisers
▪ The York Cougar Band will host its annual Winter Band Fish Fry 3-8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday at York Middle School. Plates are $10 for adults; $5 for ages 5-10 and free for ages 4 and younger. Plates include all-you-can-eat fish, French fries or baked potato, slaw, and hushpuppies. Dine-in or take-out.
▪ The 58th annual Lesslie Fire Department barbecue and bake sale will be 11 a.m.-8 p.m.Feb. 5 and 11 a.m. Feb. 6 until sold out. Plates are $8 and sandwiches, $4. For information, call 803-324-0828.

▪ Children’s Theatre of Charlotte presents a slapstick spin on Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Princess and the Pea,” 7 p.m. Thursday at Clover High School Auditorium.
