School notes: Clover FFA members
CHS FFA members take firsts
Clover High School’s Future Farmers of America students brought home two state championships from competition in Clemson.
The Dairy Evaluation Team - Sierra Mazurkiewicz, Hannah Rhyne, Madison Hansen and Erin Ramsdale - finished in first place and will attend the FFA National Convention in the fall.
Their competition consisted of a written test, judging four classes of heifers and cows, giving reasons to the judges and completing a team event which included giving an oral presentation to a judge.
Tripp Bolin competed in the Dairy Handlers competition and won first place. He too will be going to the FFA National Convention in the fall.
This is his second consecutive state championship in this event. He had to be able to show a dairy cow, which included properly placing their feet and legs in the correct position and being able to control the animal.
