Honeycutt hurls Clover JVs over York
Sophomore Dallas Honeycutt pitched a complete game for the Clover High School JV baseball team in the 3-2 win against rival York at the CHS baseball complex.
Honeycutt kept the York hitters off balance with a heavy dose of off-speed pitches and movement on his fastball.
Will Clark, Kyle Kalick and Preston Hill had key hits in the Blue Eagles’ winning effort.
The Clover JV baseball team will play at Rock Hill at 5 p.m. Friday.
Clover Rec youth soccer, baseball cranking up
Spring youth soccer is in full swing at the Clover Parks and Recreation Department.
Regular season U10 boys and girls, U12 boys and girls, U14 boys and girls and U17 boys and girls began play this week.
Preseason practices for U6 coed and U8 coed will conclude the week of April 13. Regular season U6 coed and U8 coed games begin Monday, April 20.
Postseason U8 coed, U10 boys and girls, U12 boys and girls, U14 boys and girls and U17 boys and girls tournaments will be held the weeks of May 26 and June 2.
Regular season U6 games end June 7.
Youth soccer games are played at New Centre Park soccer complex.
Intermediate and Minor League regular season baseball games begin this week at Clover Community Park. The games will end in late May early June.
Intermediate and Minor League games will be played on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Double-elimination tournaments will be held at the conclusion of the regular season games.
Machine Pitch regular season games will begin the week of April 13 and will end in late May or early June.
Machine Pitch games will be on the same days as the Intermediate and Minor League games, with a double-elimination tournament to at the end of the season at Roosevelt Park.
T-Ball games begin the week of April 27 and will conclude in early to mid-June. T-Ball games will be played on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

YCHS Athletic, Touchdown club members sought
Steve Boyd, athletic director at York Comprehensive High School, urges parents of athletes to join the school’s athletic booster and touchdown clubs.
Application forms are available at yorkathletics.org.
The York Touchdown Club provides supplemental funding for the school’s football program. The Athletic Booster Club raises funds to enhance every sport and athlete.
