York names new middle school principal, district administrator
The York School District has announced two new administrator appointments for the 2015-16school year.
▪ Richard Ball will become principal of York Middle School. Ball has served as assistant principal at Castle Heights Middle School for the last eight years and previously served as assistant principal in Gaston County schools for six years.
Ball began his career as a biology teacher at Northwestern High School in Rock Hill. He has 21 years of experience in public education.
▪ Diana Smith has been named coordinator of student services. She most recently served as principal of New Heights Middle School in Chesterfield County School District.
She previously worked as director of guidance at South Pointe High School in Rock Hill, and assistant principal at Nation Ford High School in Fort Mill. She also served as a guidance counselor and English teacher as a during her more than 20 years of experience in public education.
