4 Clover High athletes sign to compete at college
Four Clover High School seniors – Breanna Clemmer, Seth Hurst, Anna Pettus and Sarah Reid – signed National Letters of Intent to compete at college recently.
Pettus, girls’ swimming, and Reid, girls’ golf, will both attend Converse College in Spartanburg.
Clemmer, bowling, and Hurst, boys’ swimming, will attend McKendree University and Lenoir-Rhyne, respectively.
Clemmer will go the furthest way to McKendree University in Lebanon, Ill. She is the daughter of Jeannie Haney and granddaughter of James and Barbara Clemmer. She has registered nine perfect games and numerous medals in her bowling career.
Hurst, a four-year letter winner for the Blue Eagles, will head to Lenoir Rhyne in Hickory, N.C. He qualified twice for the state swim meet while excelling in the breaststroke. Seth is the son of Rhett and Teresa Hurst.
Pettus, captain of the girls’ swim team this past season, will attend Converse. Pettus led the Blue Eagles in points earned during her senior season while also being a member of the National Honor Society and earning All-Academic accolades. She is the daughter of Tommy and Mary Pettus.
Reid will join the women’s golf program at Converse in the fall. She has been a member of the girls’ Blue Eagle golf team all four years and her greatest memory is competing in the upper-state tournament this season. Reid is the daughter of Jon and Denise Reid.
