For the 37th time, the Anne Springs Close Greenway Recreational Complex will host the Springmaid race Oct. 29.

The race, which once was ran along the streets of Fort Mill, has transitioned in the past several years to the trails on the Greenway and is officially now known as the Springmaid Trail Race. There will be two races this year – a 5K and a 10K – which starts at 8 a.m.

The races will start at the Bob Reid Field Trail Barn off the Adventure Road entrance of the Greenway. Proceeds for the event will again benefit the Mary Warner Mack Dog Park, also located on the Greenway’s Adventure Road area.

Awards will be given out for the overall top three male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K and the top three male and female age groups finishers for the 5K and 10K. Age groups consist of 19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-59 and 60 and over.

There are expected to be over 200 people signing up for the two races.
