Church joins Stephen Ministry

River Hills Community Church, 104 Hamilton’s Ferry Road, is now a Stephen Ministry Congregation.

Stephen Ministry, founded in 1975, is a one-to-one lay caring ministry using the Stephen Series system to provide high quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting. River Hills joins 12,000 Christian congregations across the U.S. and Canada, and 24 countries in the world. More than 1.5 million people have had a Stephen minister walk with them through their difficulty.

RHCC is commissioning four Stephen leaders on Sunday, Aug. 10. These four, who attended a week of Stephen Ministry training in June, will complete the process and begin training Stephen Ministers in the fall. The training requires 50 hours of in-depth study during a 20-week period. Beginning in 2015, these ministers and church members who receive training will begin providing care in the Lake Wylie and Clover area.

For more information, call 803-831-1615 or visit rhcconline.org.

In 1944, Graham was headed toward a military career as a chaplain in the Army when a case of the mumps disqualified him from service.
