Clover High students unite to honor veterans
The Clover High School AFJROTC and Interact Club along with the band, Choraliers and FCA hosted an Appreciation Breakfast Nov. 10 for veterans in the school cafeteria.
Interact member Payton Jubenville welcomed the guests followed by the posting of the colors by Samantha Clayton, Garrett Martin, Brandon Molina and Delaney Zieverink of the AFJROTC.
Choraliers Halei Akins, Kathryn Graebner, Haley Ormand, Joie Palmer, Will Pugh and Elijah Robinson sang the national anthem. Pledge of Allegiance was led by Interact member Talia Jeanty. FCA president Mandie Trainer led the invocation. A poem was then read by Angelica Jeanty. The musical patriotic medley was performed by the school Brass Quintet with Tyler Goshen and Jackson Stanton on trumpet, Aaron Milner on trombone, Emma Westergard on French horn and Matthew Kinnerson on tuba.
The guest speaker for the breakfast was Col. Lance Young USAF (retired).
The AFJROTC held the flag folding ceremony with Austin Case, Daniel Cole, Michael Parks, Josh Philips and Carson Stabell. Taps was played by Goshen and Stanton.
The breakfast concluded with closing remarks by high school principal Rod Ruth.
