Shane's Rib Shack owner buys former PDQ site

The former PDQ restaurant on Hwy. 160 in the Stonecrest Village shopping center has a new owner that plans to fill the spot with something “people will be excited about.”

But when the doors might open or what the building might hold is still unknown, owner Robb Stamey said.

Stamey bought the building several months ago and has had a lot of interest from businesses looking to lease it, he said. Mainly restaurants shown interest, he added, though some medical offices and commercial businesses have approached him looking to lease it.

Stamey is a partner in three Shane’s Rib Shack restaurants, including one on Hwy. 521 in Indian Land. There is a chance that he would open a Shane’s in Stonecrest Village, he said.

“Right now Shane’s is an option but I’m going to look at all options,” he said.

He has met with officials representing fast food and casual dining restaurants that have an interest in leasing the building, he said, but he hasn’t made a decision yet.

“I want something that will do well. I’d love to have something as soon as possible but I’m not in a rush. I want it to be right. I don’t want something in here that will fail,” he said.
