Hungry? Two more new restaurants coming to Fort Mill
FORT MILL TOWNSHIP Construction is expected to begin within two weeks on two new restaurants near Cabela’s off Carowinds Boulevard.
Matt McLanahan of the development firm MPV Properties said Moe’s Southwest Grill and Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que have both signed leases for a new 7,550-square-foot building to be constructed on an outparcel by Cabela’s, a premier outdoor recreation retailer.
McLanahan said Steve Taylor, a Moe’s and Smashburger franchisee, will operate the new 2,731-square-foot Moe’s, which will also feature a drive-thru window. Moe’s, a popular Tex-Mex concept, serves up burritos, tacos, salads and more Southwestern favorites using more than 20 fresh, all-natural ingredients.
Famous Dave’s operator Bart Kinzel will locate in the remaining space. Famous Dave’s, which has locations in Tennessee and Virginia, offers a variety of barbecue specialties, including Memphis-style ribs, Georgia pulled pork and Texas brisket, accompanied by all the favorite sides, such as macaroni and cheese, baked beans, cole slaw and more. Sauces include Rich & Sassy, Sweet & Zesty, Pineapple Rage and Wilbur’s Revenge Hot Sauce.
Construction should be complete by June 2017, with the restaurants opening late next summer, McLanahan said.
The 104,000-square-foot Cabela’s opened off Carowinds Boulevard in March 2015, with the expectation that it would attract more commercial development to the area.
The location for the two restaurants is likely to be a recipe for success, according to the development firm.
“Additional restaurant activity will continue to serve the large workforce in the area, the growing housing market, and those who travel from across the region to Carowinds and Cabela’s,” McLanahan said.
