Program on Messiah set for April 1
The Journey at Lake Wylie presents Messiah in the Passover at 7 p.m. April 1.

Christ the King posts Easter events
Experience Easter at Christ the King Church, 13501 S. Tryon St.
Holy Thursday service is at 7 p.m. April 2. Children’s classes are available for age preschool and younger.
Good Friday service is at 7 p.m. April 3. Children’s classes are available for age preschool and younger.
Easter Sunday, April 5, offers three services: Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m., or Contemporary Worship Service at 9:30 or 11 a.m. Children’s classes will be available at contemporary services for ages through fifth grade.
Also on Easter Sunday, there will be a Family Scavenger Hunt at 12:30 p.m. that includes games and more. Hamburger and hot dog lunches will be available for $5. Money goes to summer camp scholarships.

River Hills Community Church, 104 Hamilton’s Ferry Road, posts Easter services and events.
Good Friday service will be at 7 p.m. April 3 in the sanctuary.
April 5 services will be: 6:30 a.m. Sonrise Service at Camp Thunderbird; 8 a.m. sanctuary worship; 9 a.m. classes for all ages; 10 a.m. coffee fellowship in the gathering space; 10:30 a.m. sanctuary worship

‘Injustice’ sculptures on display
Central Steele Creek Presbyterian Church, 9401 S. Tryon St., will display “Injustice” (Pathos), nine life-sized ceramic sculptures, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. through April 3 and after Easter Sunday worship.
The sculptures by artist Pamela (de la Roche) Murphy have been shown on the West Coast and depict human injustice and suffering similar to the suffering Christ endured.

Temple Kol Ami Passover Seder April 4
Temple Kol Ami will hold its annual second night of Passover Seder at 6 p.m. April 4 at Unity Presbyterian Church, 303 Tom Hall St.
The Second Seder has become a tradition and this year, professional chef and Johnson & Wales trained Margo Page is preparing the meal including beef brisket with sour cherry sauce and date glazed roasted chicken.

Easter basket blessing April 4
Father John Giuliani will bless Easter baskets at 1 p.m. Holy Saturday, April 4, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 292 Munn Road.
This centuries-old Easter European tradition of blessing food consumed on Easter Sunday symbolizes the end of the Lenten fast. All are welcome to attend.

Graham Library announces Ladies Tea and Tour
Amber Brantly will serve as the keynote speaker for this year’s annual Ladies Tea and Tour at the Billy Graham Library with two seatings at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. April 18.
In 2014, Brantly’s family made world news as her husband Dr. Kent Brantly, a medical missionary serving in Liberia with Samaritan’s Purse, contracted the Ebola virus.
The event includes canapés and desserts, teas, musical entertainment and a guided tour of the Billy Graham Library. Advance reservations and payment are required by April 17. Preferred seating costs $40; regular seating, $30.
Other upcoming events are scheduled.
▪ 1-3 p.m. April 25: Book signing with David and Jason Benham. Authors, speakers and real estate entrepreneurs David and Jason Benham will sign copies of their new book, “Whatever the Cost.”
▪ 8 a.m. May 8-9: Mother’s Day Breakfast and Tour. Families are invited to treat mom to a breakfast buffet followed by a guided Journey of Faith tour. Each mother receives a gift. Breakfast is served at 7:30 a.m. each day, with the event running through 10 a.m. Advance reservations and payment are required by May 7. Tickets cost $20 per person, 3 and younger get in free.

Learn about Take 2 programs
New Life Purpose Ministries and Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church will hold a meeting at 3 p.m. April 25 on the Take 2 Enhancement programs at 15000 York Road.
Topics of discussion will address areas of homelessness, eviction, unemployment, daycare, transportation, discouragement and frustration, lack of motivation, depression, chemical dependency and displacement or lack of family support.
