Graceline: Random Acts of Kindness show His spirit
I just got back from Walmart.
I’m going to do a juice fast for three days to see if I can get my body detoxed and running more efficiently. Needless to say, I bought more than juice.
I had a dozen bags when I checked out and headed to the parking lot. To my dismay, it was pouring down rain. I thought I heard Jesus say, “Kenny, come into the ark.”
It was miserable.
As I hustled to open the trunk of my car, a nice man with an umbrella came by. He said, “Young man, I’m going to stand here while you put those in your car. Take your time.”
I was shocked.
I’ve become cynical about how ungrateful and selfish the world is becoming and here is a man standing in a downpour holding an umbrella for me – a total stranger. When I finished dumping my bags into the trunk, he said, “I’ll take that cart back for you. You have a nice day.”
I thought to myself, what if we did come into the ark. I mean what if we all started doing Acts of Random Kindness (ARK) for one another?
I know I was blessed and encouraged by this man’s kindness. I’m sure most everyone would be as well.
One of the fruits of the spirit is kindness. ARKing would certainly help people see Jesus in a world that seems to busy and self-absorbed to see Him any other way.
