Church welcomes worship minister
River Hills Community Church welcomes John Leon Lewis as minister of worship and arts beginning April 12.
Lewis has been a conductor of choirs and orchestras, is a skilled vocalist and recording artist, an accomplished pianist and a sought after Christian entertainer.
Lewis studied voice and piano at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Md., and received a music degree from Towson State University in Towson, Md.
Graham Library announces Ladies Tea and Tour
Amber Brantly will serve as the keynote speaker for this year’s annual Ladies Tea and Tour at the Billy Graham Library with two seatings at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. April 18.
In 2014, Brantly’s family made world news as her husband Dr. Kent Brantly, a medical missionary serving in Liberia with Samaritan’s Purse, contracted the Ebola virus.
The event includes canapés and desserts, teas, musical entertainment and a guided tour of the Billy Graham Library. Advance reservations and payment are required by April 17. Preferred seating costs $40; regular seating, $30.
Other upcoming events are scheduled.
▪ 1-3 p.m. April 25: Book signing with David and Jason Benham. Authors, speakers and real estate entrepreneurs David and Jason Benham will sign copies of their new book, “Whatever the Cost.”
▪ 8 a.m. May 8-9: Mother’s Day Breakfast and Tour. Families are invited to treat mom to a breakfast buffet followed by a guided Journey of Faith tour. Each mother receives a gift. Breakfast is served at 7:30 a.m. each day, with the event running through 10 a.m. Advance reservations and payment are required by May 7. Tickets cost $20 per person, 3 and younger get in free.

Learn about Take 2 programs
New Life Purpose Ministries and Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church will hold a meeting at 3 p.m. April 25 on the Take 2 Enhancement programs at 15000 York Road.
Topics of discussion will address areas of homelessness, eviction, unemployment, daycare, transportation, discouragement and frustration, lack of motivation, depression, chemical dependency and displacement or lack of family support.
Local agency support is sought and women interested in supporting this mission.

The Cafe at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church in Fort Mill serves lunch 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays.
