Ballroom Dance Club meeting April 17
The Ballroom Dance Club will meet 7:30-10:20 p.m. April 17 at Fort Mill Golf Course Club House, 101 Country Club Drive.
Adults of all ages and skill levels are welcome. Guest admission is $15 per couple, $7.50 for singles and includes a free dance lesson.

Reserve seat for scholarship luncheon April 18
The Clover-Lake Wylie Republican Women’s Club invites the community to its Clover High School scholarship luncheon, fashion show and auction event April 18 at River Hills Country Club.
The CLWRW Fay Bergman scholarship will be awarded to a CHS senior on the basis of need and merit. The CLWRW awards this scholarship each year to one or more students.
The event includes an 11:30 a.m. social (with cash bar), a buffet luncheon at noon, and fashion show by Chico’s and River Hills Men’s Pro Shop at 12:30 p.m. A silent auction also will be held.
Tickets cost $40 per person, with half going to the scholarship.

Clover Rotary plans pancake breakfast
The Clover Rotary Club will hold a pancake supper 5-7 p.m. April 21 at First United Methodist Church, 124 Bethel St.
Tickets cost $2, available in advance at Clover Chiropractic Care, 216 S. Main St., or at the door. Dinner includes pancakes, sausage and a beverage.

Plant sale, home tour set
The Master Gardeners of York County will hold two annual events during the second weekend of Rock Hill’s annual Come-See-Me Festival.
The annual Master Gardener Plant Sale will be 9 a.m.-3 p.m. April 25 and 1-4 p.m. April 26 at the Glencairn Garden Learning Center, 825 Edgemont Ave. Hundreds of perennials, shrubs, seedling trees, vines, bulbs, herbs and vegetables, most priced between $1-$5, will be for sale. Plants are donated by MGYC members.
The 2015 Garden Tour, featuring five homes in the Shiland Hills neighborhood, will be 10 a.m.-3 p.m. April 25. Rain date is 1-4 p.m. April 26. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at any of the tour gardens or at the plant sale.
Featured gardens include: June and Dick Kay, 2643 Ashmore Court; Julia and Alan Nichols, 2518 Meredith Court; Kim and Mike Climer, 2646 Carolwood Drive; Laura and Woody Livingston, 2658 Carolwood Drive; and Russ and Doris McDonald, 1830 Overbrook Drive.

Mom groups meeting May 2
MOPS and MOMSnext will meet 10 a.m.-2 p.m. May 2 at Christ the King Church for a Touch-a-Truck event.
The event allows children to see vehicles from heavy machinery to fire trucks and police cars. There also will be silent auction items and barbecue plate for lunch.

Choral society to perform
The York County Choral Society will perform Mozart’s Requiem in D minor (k. 626) at 4 p.m. May 3 in Byrnes Auditorium at Winthrop University.
This work is one of choral literature’s most well-known masterpieces and features soprano, alto, tenor, and bass soloists, along with orchestral accompaniment. Also featured will be contemporary composer Ola Gjeilo’s ethereal “Sunrise Mass” performed with stringed orchestral accompaniment. Additional selections by both composers will be performed by the York County Chamber Singers.
Tickets cost $15 for adults, $10 seniors age 62 and older and $5 with student ID. Tickets may be purchased at the door or online at york<code_dp>county<code_dp>choral<code_dp>society<code_dp>.org.
Girls on Run celebrates with 5K May 9
Girls on the Run Tri County is holding a noncompetitive 5K run and walk celebration at 8:30 a.m. May 9 at Fountain Park in downtown Rock Hill.
More than 500 girls ages 8-15 will accomplish their goals while celebrating their uniqueness and strengths.
All runners receive a T-shirt, finisher’s medal, goody bag and post-race celebration with food, drinks and music.
Girls on the Run is a nonprofit organization that offers a 10-week positive youth development after-school program for girls in third to eighth grades.

4-H registering for day camps
4-H Youth Development of Clemson Extension Service in York County is offering several day camps this summer.
▪ 10 a.m.-noon June 9: 4-H Ag & Art. Come paint farm animals and gain self-confidence. For ages 9 and older. Cost: $15.
▪ 10 a.m.-3 p.m. June 10: 4-H Bread & Birdhouses. Come learn about birds, build birdhouses and bake bread. For ages 8 and older. Cost: $15.
▪ 10 a.m.-3 p.m. June 11: 4-H Pasta. Learn how to make homemade pasta and sides to make a complete Italian inspired meal. For ages 8 and older. Cost: $10.
▪ 9 a.m.-noon June 22-26: 4-H Beginners Camp Sew. Learn to sew, which can open up new job opportunities. Fore ages 9-14. Cost: $30, includes starter kit.

Lions need eyeglasses
The River Hills/Lake Wylie Lions Club seeks eyeglasses.
Collection bins are at Sweet Repeat Thrift Shop in Lake Wylie Plaza, Harris Teeter at Steele Creek, Dr. Poole’s office in Clover, Food Lion in Lake Wylie and Lake Wylie Public Library.
From Lake Wylie donations go to Columbia, then on to a recycling center where volunteers determine which glasses are reusable, checking prescriptions, cleaning, packaging and sending them to wherever they’re most needed around the world.
