A no-swim advisory has been issued in Tega Cay, following a wastewater spill.

A spill happened Monday morning at the wastewater treatment plant at 4135 Koala Circle. The city found it at 7:30 a.m. and it was fixed by 8:30 a.m.

As of noon Monday, the cause was unknown.

“The size of the spill was approximately 12,000 gallons of partially treated wastewater that entered the lake through an adjacent storm drain,” stated an announcement from the city. “Therefore, a no-swim advisory has been issued for the cove, located between Marquesas Avenue and Palmyra Drive, and will remain in effect until further notice.”
