What would you do if you won the lottery? In Fort Mill, you can start by claiming it.
It’s a question with a thousand answers, but someone needs to go with the obvious one. What would you do if you won the lottery?
Claim the cash.
Millers Produce, on S.C. 51 in Fort Mill, sold a winning Powerball ticket in August. It was a winner, good for $50,000.
To date the winner hasn’t claimed the prize. The deadline to redeem the ticket is Feb. 8.
South Carolina Education Lottery officials are urging ticket-buyers to check their tickets. The winner is for the Aug. 12 drawing. It scored with numbers 20, 24, 26, 35 and 49. The Powerball number was 19.
The winning ticket has to be claimed at the Columbia claims center before 4 p.m. Thursday, or be mailed postmarked by then. If it isn’t, the cash will be deposited in the educational lottery account to support educational programs in South Carolina.
Players have 180 days from the drawing to claim prizes. For details, visit sceducationlottery.com.
