Fabulous Equinox

The Fabulous Equinox, 7:30 p.m. May 7, The Community Performance Center, 249 E. Main St., Rock Hill. The “Mostly Mercer Show” gives the Equinox Band a chance to show off one of the South’s best exports – the music of Johnny Mercer. From “Blues in the Night” to “Jeepers Creepers,” “Hooray for Hollywood” to “One for My Baby,” hear American music from one of the 20th century’s most prolific song composers. For Mom

Celebrate Mom, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. May 9-10, Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, 6500 S. New Hope Road, Belmont. All mothers receive free admission, and the first 250 mothers admitted each day receive a free potted plant. The weekend features complimentary 30-minute yoga sessions in the White Garden on the hour between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., live music by Dan Stanislawek at the Hillside Theater, carriage rides (additional cost), family lawn games and crafts. Grant exhibit

“Vernon Grant: An Illustrious Career” through Oct. 18, The Museum of York County, 4621 Mt. Gallant Road, Rock Hill. The new exhibition encompasses Grant’s life and career from the 1930s-1970s, and showcases Grant’s distinctive wit, style and masterful hand with gouache painting.
