Three members of Fort Mill Boy Scout Troop 250 recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Boy Scouts.
The Scouts – Grant Hummel, Connor Schmitt and Matthew West – were formally presented the Eagle Scout Award at a Court of Honor Ceremony at Grace Presbyterian Church on April 19.
Hummel, son of Christopher and Ersilia Hummel, is a senior at Fort Mill High School, where he is a member of the cross-country team and serves as senior class president. He plans to attend Clemson University in the Calhoun Honors College in the fall.
His Eagle Scout service project was in Tega Cay, where he organized volunteers to power wash and stain the wooden walking trail bridge. The project had 15 volunteers and took 188 hours to complete.
