Festival of reading fun
Crowders Creek Elementary School celebrated reading May 29 with its annual Storytelling Festival.
Readers included national award-winning author Carmen Agra Deedy of Georgia, who has published 14 books including “14 Cows for America.” Clover school board member Sherri Ciurlik also read to students, along with school administrators and others.
School librarian Dot Guthrie started the end-of-year event at the school nine years ago.
“There will be service dogs and other great attractions for students as we bring this school year to a close by celebrating literacy,” she said.
