Food, drinks, music: Ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in York County region

York County residents can don their green and celebrate some St. Patrick’s Day events.

Coronavirus concerns prompted multiple local events to be canceled, including Baxter Village’s St. Patrick’s Day event in Fort Mill. On Tuesday, Special Olympics South Carolina announced the cancellation of three statewide events, The Herald previously reported.

However, several events are still on as of Thursday:

Rock Hill’s St. Patrick’s Day on Main Street

Rock Hill’s St. Patrick’s Day festival is 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday on Main Street. The event is sponsored by Rock Hill’s Old Town Association.

Guests will enjoy a children’s play zone, live entertainment, food trucks, vendors and beer.

Fort Mill’s Main Street Shamrock Jam

Fort Mill residents will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday on Main Street. The Shamrock Jam includes food, kid’s activities, live music and games.

Guests can shop from more than 20 local craftsman and vendors and drink green beer. Residents are encouraged to show their leprechaun style in the costume contest.

The event is presented by Hobo’s and Amor Artis Brewing in Fort Mill.

Clover’s St. Patrick’s Day festival

The Town of Clover is starting festivities with a celebration at 6 p.m. on Friday at Boyd Tire and Appliance, 110 N. Main Street. Stella’s Fellas will provide live music. Guests can enjoy street food and a beer garden.

Clover’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday off Main Street in downtown. The event includes a 5K run or walk, a dog show, arts and crafts, amusement rides, food and a beer garden. The Time Clark Band will perform live at the Catawba Street Stage.

Other performers include the Piedmont Carolinas Jr. Shaggers, Adagio School of Dance, the Soap Bubble Circus and gospel singer Terry Roberson.

Anne Springs Close St. Patrick’s Day brunch

Adults and children are invited to a St. Patrick’s Day themed brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Anne Spring Close Greenway’s Gateway Canteen, 250 Dairy Barn Lane in Fort Mill.

Tickets are $17.95 for adults and $9.95 for children. Residents who are not greenway members will also pay a $6 daily use fee.

The brunch will feature corned beef, Guinness beef stew, bangers and other Irish favorites. Children can get their face painted.

Lake Wylie Brewing’s party

The Lake Wylie Brewing Company’s Mega Awesome Party for St. Patrick’s Day is 7 p.m. Sunday at 1741 Gold Hill Road in Fort Mill.

Two bands, Belfast Beggars and Jam Garden, will perform live. Guests can enjoy corned beef and cabbage and a kids’ bounce house.

Red Rose Brew Bash - Lancaster

The Craft Stand in Lancaster invites residents to the fourth annual Red Rose Brew Bash from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.

The event includes food trucks, beer and live music. The $20 cover fee includes a souvenir cup and two beer tickets.
