Big bass fish weighs in at 6.47 lbs. at weekly Lake Wylie tournament
Anglers turned out for a hot night of fishing June 25 on Lake Wylie.
“We had another good crowd to turn out for the Thursday Night Tournament,” said Erwin Gaston, who co-organizes the weekly event with Jeremy Cabe. “There were 44 boats on a hot but clear night to fish.”
Mike Carver and Derek Lilly brought five fish to the scale weighing 14.80 pounds. Their big fish of the night weighed 6.47 pounds.
Second place went to the father-son team of Russ and David Winters, with five fish weighing in at 13.81 pounds.
The trail is sponsored by Academy Sports, Kangaroo Express, A-1 Adams Bail Bonds Agency and Sparks Grading.
Tournaments are held Thursdays through Aug. 27. Registration runs 5:30-6:20 p.m. at Buster Boyd Access Area. Blast off is at 6:30 p.m. and weigh-in at 11 p.m. The two-night Championship Fish-off is Sept. 11-12.
