Belmont chamber celebrates company’s growth

Champion Plumbing celebrated doubling its workforce to 22 in four months and moving to a new location with a Montcross Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting at the new location on 612 S. Chestnut St., Gastonia.

The 7-year-old company’s president is Robert Johnson and is a new member of the Montcross chamber. Champion Plumbing specializes in residential, commercial and industrial construction, and repairs in North and South Carolina.

Sheriff’s office seeks business support

Law Enforcement Publications is contacting York County business owners to advertise in the 2016 calendar, a new fundraising initiative by Sheriff Bruce Bryant and the directors of the Sheriff’s Foundation of York County Inc.

The proceeds supplement money earned from the annual golf tournament and go to charity.

The foundation has given $49,000 in scholarship money to York County students. An additional $9,000 has been used to purchase backpacks and school supplies for York County students in need. Money raised will benefit school safety patrol programs, fund Law Enforcement Day at The Children’s Attention Home and provides financial support for Boy Scout Explorer Post 1786.

Buy local with mobile app

The York County Regional Chamber of Commerce announces a new buy-local partnership with Thanx Inc. to motivate people to support local businesses.

Thanx is a mobile application that connects businesses to customers and allows them to reward those customers with each return visit. Using the app, customers can flip through a list of all participating local merchants and track their progress toward available rewards. As new merchants join, customers will be alerted through their mobile device.

Each participating business will have access to a private merchant analytics dashboard through Thanx, which reveals insights and data on that individual business. York County retailers, restaurants and service providers can get started with Thanx by calling 803-324-7500.

York County visitors app available

The Rock Hill/York County Convention & Visitors Bureau has launched its first mobile app: Visit York County, SC. It is available in the Apple Store for iPhone users and on Google Play for Android users.

Visit York County, SC is an eat, stay, and play app and was created to help visitors and residents find restaurants, places to stay, and things to see and do.
