Letter: Talk at Unity was uplifting
Talk was uplifting
On Sunday, July 19, the congregation of Unity Presbyterian Church was blessed at both services by our own Bob Martin Jr. (son of Joan and the late Dr. Bob Martin) as guest speaker.
His topic titled “God’s Call” told of how and when he was called to seminary.
In 1987, the Rev. Roy Watkins, then pastor of Unity, suggested to Bob that he go down to Columbia Seminary and take a few assessment tests to see where they pointed him. Fast forward to 2009, when he was accepted into Union Presbyterian Seminary in Charlotte.
As Bob nears the end of his seminary studies, he is so glad that God gave him the wisdom to “step out of his comfort zone” and to follow where He led him. Thank you, Bob, for sharing your story with us. We are all so proud of you and wish you and your family all of God’s blessings for the future. In closing, I can hear Dr. Bob saying, “That’s my boy!”
To God be the Glory!
