Lake Wylie Bowl N’ Bounce is forming fall leagues for all ages and skill levels.

CHS cheerleaders to hold 5K Aug. 22

The Clover High School cheerleaders will host a back-to-school 5K race Aug. 22 at Clover High School.

There also will be a 1-mile fun run at 8 a.m. The 5K starts at 8:30 a.m.

Entry fee is $25 for the 5K and $15 for the fun run.

The course will include a combination of paved areas and trails. Email bailey.jackson@clover.k12.sc.us for a registration form, or pick one up at the CHS main office.

Youth cheer camp to be held Aug. 22

The Clover High School cheerleaders will offer youth cheer camp for ages 5-12 1-4 p.m. Aug. 22 in the school gymnasium.

The camp is designed to sharpen cheerleading skills, improve techniques and gain a better understanding of the sport.

The total development of the youth cheerleader through individual, small-group and large-group instruction will be the focus. Cost: $40 per camper, including a T-shirt, snacks and a varsity football cheerleading appearance at a home football game.

Teams play senior golf tourney

Two Lake Wylie area teams took on the Aug. 3 Carolinas Golf Association’s Senior Four-Ball One-Day Tournament at River Run Country Club in Davidson, N.C.

Harold Fisher and Tom Bookmiller, both Lake Wylie, finished 37-39 - 76 in Super Senior 65 an older Flight A.

Herb Towell of Lake Wylie and Carlos Salas of Clover finished 40-44 - 84 in Super Senior 70 and older.

Entry is open to any male amateur golfer who has reached his 55th birthday by the tournament date, is a member of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association, and has a current USGA Handicap Index at a CGA member club. The field is divided into divisions based on age and total team course handicap: Tournament Division-Flight A, Flight B; Super Senior 65 and older Division, Flight A, Flight B; Super Senior 70 and older Division.
