Paradise homeowners are getting a hand.
Habitat for Humanity of York County will join churches, businesses and civic groups to repair 13 homes in September. Projects range from cleaning and painting to window replacement, roofing, plumbing, electrical and foundation or framing work. Habitat did similar work in Paradise last year.
“Many of these homeowners are living on fixed income and may not have all the resources to make the needed repairs,” said Tim Veeck, executive director for Habitat.
Homeowners applied and were selected based on need, willingness to partner with community members and ability to contribute toward the cost of the work.
Partners are signed on already, but a meeting will be held 6-7 p.m. Aug. 31 at Unity Presbyterian Church for any other groups that may want to join the effort. For more information, visit yorkcountyhabitat.org.
