Club news: River Hills Women’s Club to meet Sept. 16
Girls on Run registration set
Girls on the Run of the Tri County registration opens Sept. 7 for all sites. The fall season begins the week of Sept. 21 and ends Dec. 5 at the Piedmont Medical Center’s Reindeer Romp in Rock Hill.
Girls on the Run is a physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in third to eighth grade. With 20 sessions, the program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a 5K.

River Hills Women’s group to meet
The River Hills Women’s Club will meet Sept. 16 for its monthly luncheon at River Hills Country Club.
The club is a social organization for women who live in River Hills or are a member of the River Hills Country Club. Each month September through May, the club has a luncheon (with the exception of January) at the country club. Interest groups include dinner and lunch groups, book and garden clubs, Bridge, sew and chat and more.
Returning and new members should pay annual dues of $20 to Sandy Shaffer at 32 Catawba Ridge Road.

Clover Jaycees plan auto show, fall festival
The Clover Jaycees and the town of Clover will host the annual auto show and fall festival Sept. 19 on Main Street in downtown Clover.
Vendor applications are being accepted for crafts, children’s activities and food.
The auto show features more than 45 classes, with awards presented for Best Paint, Best Engine, Best Interior, Best Club Participation and Furthest Distance Traveled. A Best of Show trophy is presented in memory of the late Dwayne Adams.
Registration for the auto show begins at 8 a.m. The cost is $20 in advance, or $25 day of the event.
A parking lot party featuring music by Finally Friday is 6:30-10 p.m. in the Bi-Lo parking lot. Bring lawn chairs.

Win $10,000 in Lions raffle
The River Hills/Lake Wylie Lions Club will hold a raffle Oct. 3 with one prize: $10,000.
Only 300 raffle tickets will be sold, at $100 each. The winning ticket will be drawn at 8:30 p.m. at River Hills Country Club. The winner need not be present to win.
The raffle benefits the River Hills/Lake Wylie EMS, which offers free services or payable through patient’s insurance in the Lake Wylie area. Tickets are available at River Hills Community Association office, or by calling 803-818-1729 or 803-831-8683.
▪ The club continues to hold free eye screenings. The program, Lions Kidsight USA, uses state-of-the-art Welch Allyn camera capable of checking for six potential eye problems. Parental consent is required. If a referral is recommended for a child, printed documentation the results will be sent to the facility.
