Burn Boot Camp coming to Tega Cay

A fitness concept for women called Burn Boot Camp is opening four facilities in the Charlotte area, including one near Lake Wylie.

Devan Kline, owner and chief executive officer of Burn Boot Camp, said the new facilities in Elizabeth, Mallard Creek and Tega Cay will open Oct. 1, and another in Pineville was scheduled to open Aug. 30.

Amanda Berger, who will run the Tega Cay location, said Sept. 1 the address is 1738 Gold Hill Road.

The high-intensity boot-camp-style workouts are intended for busy women and run 45 minutes. The classes focus on mindset, clean eating and building muscle rather than weight loss. Free child care is offered at certain locations.

Burn Boot Camp operates North Carolina facilities in Concord, Cornelius, Denver, Durham, Huntersville, Matthews and Mooresville, according to its website.

A sweet celebration of art in Belmont

Current students, former students, future students and dozens of parents and friends surrounded Belmont art teacher Jeaniene Dibble Aug. 19 to celebrate 30 years of teaching at Art by J studio upstairs at Belmont General Store.

After dozens of ribbon-cuttings, it was the Montcross Area Chamber’s first official cake-cutting. Students showed their work and talked to visitors about their art.

Stowe Pointe hosts Montcross Area Chamber

The Lennar’s Stowe Pointe community in Belmont hosted Montcross Area Chamber’s Network After Work event in the decorated model home at 329 Stowe Road.

The final Traditions phase of the 161-home community is nearing completion. Stowe Pointe homes are three to six bedrooms and priced from $245,000 to $389,000.

Villas at Creek Walk grand opening

The grand opening weekend for a new phase and model home at the Villas at Creek Walk kicked off July 30 with a lunch, tours and ribbon-cutting for Montcross Area Chamber members, with an all-day grand opening Aug. 1.
