Starbucks, Jimmy John’s under construction in Steele Creek
Construction crews in Steele Creek are putting up a place to eat, drink and sleep.
Andujar Construction is building a three-tenant building at 13121 S. Tryon St., between the new Taco Bell and CMC-Steele Creek. Anthony Andujar, vice president and project manager, said plans are for a Starbucks, Jimmy John’s and mattress store.
Andujar said construction should be complete by early December.
“I do not know when the individual tenants will be opening,” he said.
Andujar expects all to open shortly after construction is finished.
“It’s going to be open early 2016,” he said.
The nearest Jimmy John’s is in Fort Mill. Starbucks has three locations near the new construction – two in RiverGate shopping center with one in Target and at Harris Teeter.
“The store will be relocating from the one at RiverGate,” said Haley Nieman, spokeswoman for Starbucks.
A drive-thru is included in the new plans, something the RiverGate location lacked. The new store should be open early next year, Nieman said.
“The new location will have a drive-thru, as well as cafe seating for about 50,” she said.
