Mr. and Mrs. Jones celebrate 67th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Anderson Jones of Fort Mill celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary Aug. 14, 2015.

The couple were wed Aug. 14, 1948, at Fort Mill Baptist Church with the bride’s father, Dr. W. Fred Hinesley of Atlanta, officiating the double ring ritual. He was assisted by church pastor the Rev. Osweld Amith.

The bride, Sarah Ellen Hinesley, was given in marriage by her brother Fred Hinesley Jr.

After the ceremony, the couple left on a wedding trip then settled in Fort Mill.

They celebrated their recent anniversary by having dinner with their children Oscar A. Jones Jr. of Atlanta, Fred Jones of Fort Mill and Sarah Harkey of Charlotte.
