Burdette Evans “Chip” Heemsoth, III and Etrulia Dianne “Trudie” Bolin Heemsoth of Fort Mill celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 18, 2015.

After graduation from Fort Mill High School in 1966, Trudie joined Chip in Savannah, where he was stationed at Hunter Air Force Base.

Chip and Trudie have been richly blessed with a daughter, Lori Heemsoth Clyburn; son-in-law, Andy; grandson, Colton; granddaughter, Carsyn; a son, Brian Evans Heemsoth and his fiancé, Marcy Adams.

Chip served the U.S. Air Force as an air traffic controller for four years. After being discharged, he was employed by the FAA for 31 years as an air traffic controller before his retirement from Charlotte Air Traffic Control Tower in 2000.
