Golfers needed to play for Fort Mill Care Center
Fort Mill Care Center Legacy of Caring Benefit Golf Tournament is Oct. 12 at Springfield Golf Club.
Tournament proceeds will help fund new food storage warehouse for Fort Mill Care Center
Business and individual sponsorships are still available according to tournament co-chairmen Bob Turner and Clay Luton. Business sponsors receive a foursome team, plus special recognition and signs at the event, dinner provided by Gourmet Gents in Tents of Fort Mill, and a chance to win prizes, including a seven-night Celebrity Caribbean Cruise, NASCAR race tickets, golf at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, N.C., dinner at Ballantyne Resort, golf lessons and free dinners at local restaurants.
The cost to participate for individuals is $150, or $600 for a foursome.
“This is a fun way for businesses and individuals in our community to contribute to a great cause – the Fort Mill Care Center,” Turner said.
The center recently moved its offices and pantry from 818 Tom Hall St. to a newly renovated building at 2760 Old Nation Road and re-opened to serve its clients on Aug. 31. The new location will allow the center to add more storage space for its food pantry and accommodate the donations of food and produce received from individuals and businesses in Fort Mill throughout the year. In recent years, the center has had to turn away donations because of inadequate storage space.
Registration for the Captain’s Choice tournament begins at 11:15 a.m., with tee off at noon Oct. 12 and dinner at 5:30 p.m. For more information, contact Turner at pjturner@comporium.com or 803-981-4539 or Luton at clayluton@hotmail.com or 704-773-8046 or visit the Fort Mill Care Center website at fortmillcarecenter.org.
