Tuesday Night Trivia host Michael Burgess asks a question at Empire Pizza. Special to The Fort Mill Times

There is nothing trivial about Trivia Tuesdays at Empire Pizza and Bar Fort Mill, every Tuesday night starting at 8:30 p.m.

Finally, your love of N’SYNC or your obsession with all things Pixar can be put to good use, even winning you a range of prizes, from free food and drinks to gift cards. Who said all that knowledge was “useless?”

Hosted by the comical Michael Burgess, better known by his ironic (he’s 6 feet, 6 inches) nickname, “Tiny,” Trivia Night is a real treat.

“I tell horrible jokes,” he warns the eager teams as they prepare for a battle of brains. He also emphasizes the no cellphones rule, “It’s just a game, relax, have fun.”

The categories included Geography, Speedsters (things that are fast), “Jeopardy,” Name that tune, Things to do with water, “Toy Story,” and “How Many Kids Did They Have on that TV Show?”

If you’re a “Game of Thrones” fan, perhaps you can answer one of Tuesday night’s questions from the “How Many Kids Did They Have on that TV Show:” category: “How many legitimate Stark children were there in the first episode of Game of Thrones?”

“Toy Story” fans should know what the boy with all the toys is named.

Burgess has hosted trivia night at the three Empire Pizza and Bar locations for 4 1/ 2 years, and at the Fort Mill location since it opened. His favorite trivia categories are Movies and Music, particularly Classic Rock (evidenced by a playlist comprising of at least two Led Zeppelin songs, Van Halen, and The Talking Heads used during breaks after each round). Burgess says the best thing, for him, about hosting trivia night at Empire Pizza and Bar is the people.

“They people that play are the best, and they laugh at my dumb jokes,” Burgess said.

The relaxed atmosphere of Empire Pizza and Bar is a perfect fit for trivia night. The service is fast and friendly and the pizza will make you think you’re in New York City. With big screen TVs, and a full bar, even if trivia isn’t your thing, there are plenty of reasons to visit Empire.

So get your geek on next Tuesday night for Trivia Tuesday at Empire Pizza and Bar, your inner nerd will thank you.
