Veterans invited to breakfast

Clover High School invites veterans to Veterans Day Breakfast and Program 7:30-8:30 a.m. Nov. 10 at the school’s main cafeteria.

The event is hosted by Air Force Junior ROTC and Interact Club. U.S. Rep. Mick Mulvaney is the guest speaker.

Students inducted into honor society

The Fred Chase Chapter of the National Honor Society inducted new members, including Lake Wylie area students, Oct. 5 at Gaston Christian High School.

The 34 students and their parents were honored at a reception following the induction service.

Students are: Lauren Adams, Breanna Barrett, Alex Blake, Kathryn Davis, Emily Egeln, Clara Ellington, Andie Ervay, Alexis Friday, Strat Guy, Abby Hoover, Alexander Jiang, Kayleigh Jones, Marcus Li, Hannah McAferty; Ashley McGraw, Regan McNiff, Abbey Moon, Caroline Moore, Andrew Morgan, Anna Mullis, Jacob Noblett, Hannah Overton, Brice Turner, Jessie Wang, J.P. Rooney, Lauren Sbarra, Emma Schmitke, Luke Springs, Grace Suter, Thomas Williford, Austin Purtell, Madux Price, Ellise Zukaitis and Jillien Zukaitis.

Gaston Day Fall Festival Oct. 17

The Gaston Day School Fall Festival has been rescheduled due to the weather forecast from Oct. 3 to 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 17 at 2001 Gaston Day School Road.

Event include vendors, horse rides, face painting, games and more. At 2 p.m., a helicopter will drop purchased golf balls. Cash prizes will be awarded based on proximity to designated pins.

Wristbands in advance are $25, or $30 at the door, and include unlimited games and rides. Individual rides or games cost $1 each.

Class of ’85 reunion Nov. 7

The Clover High School Class of 1985 is having a 30th reunion at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at T-Bones on the Lake in Lake Wylie.

CBCC offers chance at scholarship

The Community Blood Center of the Carolinas is giving high school and college students a chance to win a $1,000 college scholarship.

To qualify for a Holiday Heroes scholarship, students must host a blood drive Nov. 21-30 or Dec. 19-Jan. 9. CBCC will award a $1,000 college scholarship to the student who collects the most units.
