Churches holding trunk or treat events

▪ 4:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 24, Crowders Creek ARP Church, 207 Crowders Creek Church Road, Gastonia. Free event includes hot dogs, candy, bonfire, games, costume parade and voting for favorite trunk. Bring a chair. Visit crowderscreekarpchurch.org.

▪ 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 31, Christ the King Church, 13501 S. Tryon St., Steele Creek. Hosted by MOPS and MOMS, there will be crafts, bounce houses, face painting, games and hayrides. Lunch plates will be available for sale, along with a bake sale.

Christ the King project Oct. 25

Christ the King Church will work on The Kennedy Project Oct. 25 at Kennedy Middle School making school improvements.

Projects begin 8 a.m. Worship is at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch at noon.

The school is at 4000 Gallant Lane, Charlotte.

Church youth selling pumpkins

River Hills Community Church youth have set up a pumpkin patch outside the life center with proceeds going to the church’s capital campaign drive.

Pumpkins will be sold through Oct. 31.

Hours are: noon-6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.

Church hosts blood drive Nov. 1

River Hills Community Church will hold Puppies for Patients community blood drive 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 1 for Community Blood Center of the Carolinas.

From November through Dec. 31, all donors can give blood and brighten a child’s hospital stay by signing a gift tag that will be attached to a stuffed puppy. Puppies will be delivered to area hospitals and given to pediatric patients.

Oakdale’s Harvest Sale Nov. 7 in Clover

Oakdale Presbyterian Church, 12585 Highway 55 W., will hold its annual Harvest Sale 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 7.

Oakdale’s beef hash will be available for eat in or take out. Hamburgers and hamburger steak plates also will be available.

Church seeks holiday craft event vendors

Lake Wylie Lutheran Church Quilters will hold its Holiday Boutique 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 7.

All items must be handmade or hand embellished; no resale items please. Cost is $25 for a 10-by-10 booth.

Community Cafe serves lunch Tuesdays

The Community Cafe offers free weekly lunches 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesdays at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly.

The Cafe at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church in Fort Mill serves lunch 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays.

Bill Graham Library to hold events

Billy Graham Library will hold the following events:

▪ 6:30-8:30 p.m. Nov. 20: Ladies Night Out with a preview of the annual Christmas at the Library at the Billy Graham Library. Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and be among the first to see the library’s Christmas decorations and hear an encouraging message from Kendra Graham, wife of evangelist Will Graham. ▪ Billy Graham Library is partnering with the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh, N.C., for a special exhibit – “North Carolina’s Favorite Son: Billy Graham and His Remarkable Journey of Faith” – Nov. 6-July 10. Through interactive displays, multimedia and never-before-seen memorabilia, visitors can retrace Billy Graham’s steps through history and discover his faith and leadership at work during the Cold War, the battle against segregation, and through unprecedented partnerships with churches around the world.
