Fort Mill firefighters turned into box movers Monday, as they loaded items for disaster relief.

Firefighters filled the fire marshal pickup and a trailer behind it with items for flood victims in South Carolina. Then, they drove them down Monday morning.

The effort is one of many from the area. The utilities department in Fort Mill also collected baby items for donation. At Fort Mill High School, students in Family Career and Community Leaders of America also collected supplies that were brought to the Midlands to help people in need there.

Are you helping, too?

Many local organizations and individuals have been contributing to the South Carolina flood relief effort. If you have an upcoming fundraiser or related event you want the Fort Mill Times to publicize, or if you want to let others know how you already helped, send information and photos (high resolution jpgs, please) to news@fortmilltimes.com
