Baxter Village Fall Festival returns for 15th year

From a trackless train to magic and live music to festive food of the season, the 15th annual Baxter Village Fall Festival & Market Day will be held along five blocks of Market Street in Baxter Village.

The festival is noon-6 p.m. Nov. 7 and annually attracts more than 3,500 attendees.

There will be more than 100 exhibitors, including arts and crafts, and vendors. Among the entertainment will be a trackless train, giant slides, inflatables, bounce houses, carnival games, face painters, clowns, costumed characters, contests and prizes. There will also be more than a dozen food and beverage choices, with everything from barbecue, brats and burgers to seafood, pizza, beer and wine.

Among the mascots expected to make appearances during the event are the Carolina Panthers’ Sir Purr and Charlotte Knights’ Homer.

“We’re pulling in some new entertainment this year and lots of new exhibitors to add to the fun. The exhibitors, sponsors and merchants have really gone all out this year to ensure we offer a great experience for families of all ages,” said Mike Martoccia, Baxter Village activities director. “It’s an ideal place to get everyone together for a day and celebrate the season. Add some live entertainment and shopping, and it should appeal to everyone!”

This year’s event is sponsored by Piedmont Medical Center, Beef O’Brady’s, Six Pence Pub, Epps Orthodontics, Honda Cars of Rock Hill, American Financial Network, Allen Tate-Andy Bovender Team, Cramer Pest Control, Baxter Merchants and Baxter Community Association.
