Letter: Vote for Guynn Savage
As a sitting elected official I have never publicly endorsed a candidate in a local race. However, I believe this year’s Town of Fort Mill mayoral race is so important to the future of our area; I wanted to let everyone know why I am enthusiastically supporting Guynn Savage as our next mayor.
Over the past thirty years I have learned a lot about the importance that good leadership and vision plays in the success of any organization. Fort Mill is at a pivotal point in its history and desperately needs the good leadership that Guynn Savage can provide. We cannot afford to continue to manage unabated growth without having good strategic plans to address this change, and Guynn is capable of handling this task.
Fort Mill needs a mayor who understands the value of building good relationships with the other entities in the area, as well as a mayor that realizes the value of working together with other governmental entities. Guynn Savage has a proven track record of bringing groups together and working for the common good of the entire community. She possesses fantastic communication skills that will help her bring everyone together for the good of the community.
As a native of Fort Mill I have a genuine appreciation for the small town that I grew up in. However, I understand that change cannot be avoided. As Mayor, Guynn Savage will be able to provide strategic vision to our long range planning needs, while at the same time provide common sense solutions to today’s concerns.
If you live in the town limits of Fort Mill, then please cast your vote for Guynn on November 3rd. If you don’t live in the town limits, then encourage your friends who do to vote for Guynn on November 3rd. If you are concerned about the future of this great area we call home, then please support Guynn next week in any way you can. Our future depends on what actions you take now.
Patrick White, Fort Mill School Board chairman
